Good Timing For Digital Marketing Activities On Facebook

Digital marketing professionals wishing to increase user engagement on Facebook are sure to benefit from this article. According to various digital marketing studies it has been discovered that the time at which content was posted on a brand's Facebook Page has a lot to do with the success of that message. These studies have also found out that most digital marketing messages are ill-timed, and hence have low engagement ratios. In fact, it is now being believed that office hours are the worst possible time to post marketing content on Facebook.

While most digital marketing experts generally work only on weekdays, Facebook is buzzing with activity 24X7. Hence, it is important for companies to adapt to the schedules of their audience, to enhance engagement ratios, and improve revenues.

According to a study by a leading digital marketing research agency, it was discovered that user engagement on Facebook peaked at three major points:

. 7 am: when people just woke up from bed

. 5 pm: after working hours

. 11 pm: just before people turned in to bed.

However, the peak time for various Facebook business pages can differ from industry to industry. For instance, when it comes to Playboy magazine, the peak engagement hours are the early hours of the morning. This means that digital marketing specialists need to work on a case-by-case basis, depending on the industry and audience their client is catering to.

The day of the week is also important when it comes to 'good timing'. According to leading digital marketing experts, it is estimated that Thursdays and Fridays have 18 percent more user engagement activity than other days of the week. This is assumed to be because people are bored in office, and are waiting in anticipation for the weekend to arrive.

However, this does not mean that you should post updates and comments only on these days. Different industries exhibit different trends during a week, as well as different daily peak times. Below is a list of industries and their corresponding user patterns:

. Entertainment: People begin to look for entertainment in the form of movies or concerts, only when the weekend draws near. Hence, posting captivating content on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays are expected to give digital marketing experts bigger returns.

. Business and finance: The stock markets are open only on weekdays; hence, you can expect user engagement to peak by Wednesday and Thursday. This industry has very little user activity on weekends.

. Health, beauty and fashion: Engagement usually peaks on Thursdays, as people begin to prepare for weekend activities. However, most digital marketing companies post content on Mondays and Fridays, when interest is at their lowest.
