Digital Marketing Tips For Recovering From Google Panda

According to posts by leading digital marketing research agencies, many brands are finding it difficult to recover from recent Google Panda updates. Disheartened by Google's recent algorithm changes, SEO experts are wondering what to do to get their search engine rankings and traffic, to return to pre-Panda levels.

Testing various changes

If you are a digital marketing professional who happens to have a hobby website, you could test a few SEO changes there, to learn what sort of result can be expected.

Some digital marketing elements that may require fixing are mentioned below:

. Q&A style content: Many websites have pages with digital marketing content that are in a question-and-answer format, like Yahoo Answers. When compared to clear articles written by a single author, such content might be considered to be of low quality by Google. Hence, you can think of removing or reducing it.

. Press releases: Some websites republish press releases released by different news agencies, which are relevant to their industry or company. This does not include the usual digital marketing company releases, but research-style releases, similar to those released by Forrester Research. As such press releases may be flagged as duplicate content; you could consider eliminating them.

. URL parameters: Some plug-ins can create URLs with parameters that trigger page functionality, while not actually having an effect on the content. This may create duplicate digital marketing content, for which you could be penalised. You should either remove such plug-ins, or mark out parameters, so that the search engines ignore them.

. Cross-site linking: We are not talking about link farms here. However, even if you have just one page on your website that cross-links to others, you should consider removing it, to see how your digital marketing SEO strategy will be affected.

. Broken links: Whether internal or external links, a broken link can not only effect SERP rankings, but also give users a negative website experience. Hence, you should consider fixing them, to improve the quality of your website.

. Quality of comments: Many popular websites with thousands of user comments have been flagged by Google as being of low quality. Though it is not necessary to remove an entire comment section, you could clear out comments that are too short, or do not offer any new information.
