Digital Marketing Tips For Keeping Facebook Fans Entertained

After a digital marketing professional gets a number of Facebook users to 'like' their business page, it is important to keep these fans engaged. This article lists out numerous ways for keeping a brand in the front of a user's mind, by making it constantly visible in their news feeds.

Getting people to become fans of your Facebook page is not all that easy. Most brands manage to collect fans only after buying large amounts of Facebook advertising, or gradually, through traditional media campaigns. Once you have built up a strong fan base, you will need to entertain them, by maintaining regular communications. Regular interaction not only helps build loyalty and awareness, but also helps in market research, and driving sales.

However, social media marketing can be a tricky business. If you do too little, your fans may get bored. If you do too much, and constantly intrude on their news feeds, they may leave your fan page. Hence, it is important for digital marketing professionals to be non-intrusive while interacting with fans. One of the simplest ways to accomplish this is to offer value, with each and every digital marketing message that you post.

Below are some digital marketing ideas to keep your fans interested:

. Offer discounts and special offers: Reward the loyalty displayed by Facebook users for your brand, by offering them better discounts/freebies than they would ordinarily get. However, don't pelt them with 'discounts' on overpriced goods, as most people can see through such poorly disguised forms of selling.

. Conduct competitions: Everyone has a competitive streak. Competitions offer people a great way to interact with the brand, as well as other community members. Facebook has strict rules about running competitions, so it is important to follow them carefully, or risk having your digital marketing content removed.

. Sharing content: Before linking to useful articles, think about your audience, and what they may like. Most Facebook users prefer informal, chatty content, in the format of 'top 10 .' or 'how to.' You can also use appropriate digital marketing images to gain their attention.

. Question polls: You can use the new question poll option of Facebook, to start a discussion or debate around some topic of interest. Such digital marketing polls are known to increase brand exposure. In fact, some big brands also pose irrelevant questions about celebrities, sports or movies to their fans.

. Offer advice: If you sell products/services for which you can offer expert advice, then create an 'advice tab' on Facebook. Cosmetic brands, clothing stores, hair salons, veterinarians, dentists and so on, could ask users to submit queries, to which helpful advice can be posted. Such 'advice sections' will help make your brand appear more of an authority on a certain subject.
