The computer company Dell took the papers by storm when it reported that it had made sales up to $6.5 million by promotions on Twitter. This is an example of successful digital marketing. Dell first used digital marketing to promote its consumer products like laptops, but now it plans to use digital marketing to develop its enterprise sales team that sells green computers and IT solutions to major corporations.

Dell also uses its own branded social communities for digital marketing, which it has found to be very successful.
