Digital Marketing - Managing Your Social Media Profiles

Thousands of companies around the world are beginning to realise just how valuable social media is for digital marketing, and are pulling out all stops to gain a strong foothold on the major networks. The popularity of social media is very high among B2B and B2C companies, globally. However, if digital marketing professionals want to get true value out of social media, within the SEO perspective, there are some digital marketing strategies which they should integrate with their campaign, right from the beginning.

Many digital marketing professionals spend sleepless nights asking themselves why they are not ranking for a certain keyword, or why people are not interacting with their online communities. Various marketers create different SEO-based social media campaigns, of which some are well managed, while others are not conceived properly. When it comes to organising your social media strategy, the faster you do it the better it is.

Some businesses with social media strategies have created a number of different accounts on each of the major social networking websites, like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and LinkedIn. For some businesses, like restaurant chains having outlets in different cities, this makes good business sense. However, having a large amount of profiles could cause confusion, and distract you from achieving the digital marketing goals you had set out to attain.

Below are some tips to help you organise your social media profiles, as your digital marketing strategy expands:

. Create a webpage, which links to all the social media profiles you have created for your brand on every social networking website that is part of your digital marketing campaign. This includes Facebook business pages, Twitter profiles, YouTube channels and LinkedIn pages. This way it will be easy for you to keep a check on what is happening at these pages.

. Build a 'social interaction' section on your website, where users can connect with each other, and visit your various social media communities. Fans should know where they can go to engage with your brand, and with each other.

. Insert a link to your 'social interaction' section, at the top and bottom of all your web pages, so that prospective customers who visit your website know where to go, if they want to interact with members of your communities.
