Digital Marketing – How To Set Up A Google Brand Page
Recently, Google announced that they have started Google+ brand pages, in much the same way as Facebook has their Facebook business pages. This has resulted in many digital marketing professionals looking for information on how to create a Google+ brand page, to enhance their digital marketing strategy.
If you wish to do the same, you have come to the right place. Here are a few steps to get your Google+ brand page up and running:
1. Getting started: Simply log-in to your Google account and visit http://www.google.com/+/business. You can also watch the video displayed on this page to know more about creating a brand page.
2. Select a category: Next, you’ll have to choose a category from the five categories available:
• Local business or place: This is fitting for local businesses like restaurants, hair salons, hotels and car washes.
• Product or brand: This is for bigger branded companies that sell products such as apparel, electronics, trucks or financial services.
• Company, institution or organization: This is appropriate for large companies, charities or other institutions.
• Arts, entertainments or sports: This is for companies or personalities from the world of television, films, music, books or sports.
• Other: This last category is suitable for those businesses, which do not fall into any of the above mentioned digital marketing categories.
3. Enter company details: First type in your company name and its website address. Make sure everything is spelt properly. After this is complete, you will have to select a sub-category for your business, depending on the original digital marketing category you chose. For example, if you first chose ‘product or brand’, you will be presented with further sub-category options such as ‘fashion and beauty’, ‘food and drink’ or ‘home and garden’. Next, you will have to select an appropriate age restriction option, depending on your customer profile. The default choice is ‘any Google+ user’. You can also restrict this to 18 and older, or 21 and older. After that, you’ll have to enter a digital marketing tagline that is no longer than ten words, and a suitable photo.
4. Spreading the word: Lastly, promote your new digital marketing page among your circles of Google+ fans by sending them a message about it.
You are now finished. Google will give you a URL and Google Plus button, which you can place on different websites, to enhance your digital marketing campaign.
