Growth in importance of digital marketing

In today's world, every company has to aggressively advertise its products in order to boost its sales up and increase its revenue. What is the use of all this? Well the answer is that when you are increasing your revenue you are also increasing automatically increasing your profits. One disadvantage of aggressively advertising and marketing is the possibility of escalating your costs. However, a more cost effective strategy has been developed and that is digital marketing. If we look around we see examples of digital marketing of various companies almost everyday of our life.

Digital marketing is basically using any means digital or electronic or promote your company's products. You could advertise via the radio, television, mobiles or the internet. The internet has recently become a very favorable choice by all businesses because of the large target market. As more and more people use the internet, the more you advertise online the more your chances of attracting consumers. Some common techniques of digital marketing adopted by almost all businesses are banner ads, search engine posting and web blogs. Another recently acquired digital marketing tactic is to integrate with social media to promote your products further.

Due to the wide scope of having business opportunities in digital marketing, many agencies and consultancies have opened up due to the very fact of digital marketing's immense popularity. These agencies and consultancies not only provide advice but also guide you throughout the whole marketing process step by step guiding you and showing you which is your most beneficial strategy.

Showing up ads on search engines is one of the most popular strategies of digital marketing. The world's most popular search engine Google has recently decided to adopt a new policy in UK and many marketers are concerned about the effects of this policy. The basic policy change is that now Google will allow advertises to use third party trademark in their ads and wont pay attention to the fact if the advertisers actually own the trademarks or not. However, only a specific set of advertisers would be allowed to do this including resellers, informational sites and sellers of components. Any advertise who isn't part of this group would not be allowed to use the policy to his/her advantage.

Google says that this gives consumers the advantage of having ads which are more specific sand helpful. Google says that if ads use other trademarks, then it will benefit the consumers as hey would know where various products are sold and offered. However, some lawsuits were filed against Google but in the end Google was found innocent and all claims of improper use of trademarks were removed.
