Digital marketing has changed many forms over the past few decades. Earlier, it was done mainly via the radio and television, where as now the internet and mobile phones have taken preference. The sole reason for the shift is that to really target a large number of people, a company should concentrate on the trends followed by the people. If people prefer the internet then you should advertise more on the internet to attract as many consumers as you can.

Why does a company advertise? The answer is to increase its sales and maximize profits. Well for any company searching out there for s solution to increase its sales, digital marketing is the answer. Due to the dire need of effective digital marketing tactics, many agencies and consultancies have established. Looking at one specific category of online browsing, paid search engines, we have seen that Google has altered and modified many of its policies again and again. Some have proven to be more beneficial than others for both advertisers and consumers. Over the period of 2009, Google introduced many changes in local ads after every 3 months or so. We have many examples of the changes, and these will be discussed below.

In the very second month of 2009, February, Google added more markers to its maps. These was quite beneficial to local searchers as they now had more information and could even see other businesses that weren't part of the local pack. In April and June, Google added two different changes; For starters it excluded geo-modifiers and then made new local business listing reports. Moreover in October, tired to reduce the crowding and suspended the process of creating new local business ads by Ad Words.
